Description

The History of MZ Racing: 1962-1977

20 years after the publication of the first part of the MZ racing history, this new book is now available.

It is the complete and detailed documentation of the racing events in Zschopau, which have never before been recorded in a closed form. It is a jigsaw puzzle of countless documentary fragments, interviews and cross-references and the result of years of research. Racing events and technology are richly illustrated – a MUST HAVE for every MZ fan.

The MZ two-stroke engines, developed by engineer Walter Kaaden, have influenced motorcycle racing for decades. His 1961 125 cc race engine design was the first to achieve an output of 200 bhp (150 kW) per litre. His revolutionary two-stroke system was copied widely in the 1960s by Japanese manufacturers.
