Description

Du dessin au design: Philippe Charbonneaux (F)

In 1946 he began his career with Delahaye in Paris, then in 1949 he joined the ‘style’ department of General Motors in Detroit, where he drew much of the future Chevrolet Corvette.

Back in France, he launched his own design studio, creating cars, advertising vehicles with futuristic lines, televisions, refrigerators and toothbrushes.

In 1960 Renault entrusts its Style Centre, which will see the birth of the R8 and R16. The car remains his first love, and until the end of life he will remain focused on the future.

Who better than his son Hervé can trace his father’s work. His professional car gaze meant that he wedged goal against his father’s ideas.
