By Carlo Alberto Gabellieri. Fiat started to compete in rallying in the early 20th century, with the first regularity races in Italy and other countries. Anyway the Turin manufacturer’s golden era began in the mid-1960s (with the 124 saloon, Sport Spider and 125) and consolidated its involvement in the early 1970s. The company then moved on from a semi-official rallying, with the 124 Sport Spider 1600, 125 Special and 128 Sport Coupé, to a direct participation in the various championships, with the 124 Abarth Rally, 124 ST and X1.9 Abarth. That led the manufacturer to the 1980 world championship with the 131 Abarth Rally. The book documents the involvement of Fiat in rallying through hundreds of previously unpublished pictures, supported by a precise text that historically relates the facts. The publication also tells the story of Fiat’s participation in the single model trophy events of the last 30 years – with the Uno, Uno Turbo, Cinquecento, Seicento, Stilo, Punto and Panda – as well as the Fiat factory’s recent return to the rallying with the Grande Punto S2000. ITALIAN TEXT! Hardback, 216 Pages, Size: 243 x 270mm. Book is new and unread.
